About

My name is Lee Padgett and I am running for Georgetown City Council. The past 20 years have not seen much in the way of leadership. We have seen the budget grow by leaps and bounds the past 5 years. A property tax increase was attached to the fiscal year 2015/16 budget to help pay for much needed infrastructure repairs, yet nothing was cut or removed from the budget to attempt to keep costs down. This is unacceptable.

The City is at a crossroads. We have a major artery that needs revitalizing –Fraser Street–the Steel Mill is shutting its doors, the sinkhole fiasco has left 2 blocks of highly visible commercial real estate unusable as well as City Hall and Fire Station #1, both of which need major supports or a complete rebuild. And the City has a proven track record of kicking the can down the road.
We need someone that is Decisive, Determined and Dependable.
We need someone who believes the City should put the people and its businesses first. I am that “someone” and that is why I am asking for your support on November 3rd, 2015.
